Setting Up A Language Training Business in Paris

Fred Collay has been a language trainer for six years and decided to become self-employed (start up his own business) two years ago. He has a broad background which helps him in designing teachers' programs and activities. He is especially gifted in creating games, situations and topics.

After pursuing studies in journalism, history and communications, Fred moved from France to England, where he began his teaching career as an Extra English Teacher. Back in France in 2000, he moved forward, still teaching in schools and working in companies such as France Telecom and Renault. Then in 2005 Fred left schools behind him and started his own company C.L.E.F.(Clubs Linguistiques de Experience et de Formation) and secured clients such as Hilton, eBay, Mederic (insurance) and Crédit Mutuel. Fred’s clients have learned that they can expect good teaching (in French and in English) and a high level of interpersonal involvement.

On Wednesday, Fred's talk will include "tips to would be teachers" as well as concrete advice, based on his own experiences, in setting up a language business.
