"Sister Lee": Arva Campbell and Gwendolyn Mitchell, a duo, are natives of the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Their musical journey began at an early age. Daughters of Pastor Arvander Lee and the late Esther R. Lee, they have continued to minister in song for 30+ years. They were original members of the Edwin Hawkins Singers in 1966 and recorded on the album, Let Us Go In The House of the Lord, featuring the highly acclaimed song, “Oh Happy Day Sister Lee is known for “spirited” and “uplifting” melodies, singing the Gospel and inspirational messages of hope and praise. CDs will be available for purchase

Evenings feature Literary, Art, New Age, Business, African-American and Black Paris themes presented in English. There is an intimate salon atmosphere and the focus is on meeting people in Paris and creating friendships. Patricia writes on being an Expat:
"...As the years went by, I also realized that the feeling of being foreign and other, transcends even race. You are not part of their (French) culture. It doesn’t matter who you are or of what origin you are. You’re either French (in your head and behaviour), or you’re not. When I began to see that, I began to identify myself as an expat. The sum of being an American who lives in Paris, an African-American trying to find roots here, minus not being French – but seeing life internationally – on a large scale and permanently, equals my personal experience of being a expat |
